A Third Chance addition

Child's Play

Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with me.  I've destroyed my brain trying to work on A Third Chance.  It's just not working!  My inspiration has died and faded away, even after a year-long break.  This is all I've come up with.  If anything, it's a horrible teaser to something that doesn't even have all that much promise at all.

A Third Chance

TsukiharaKitty

Chapter Eight:

Second Attempt

“Really, Sasori-kun,” Orochimaru said, watching his partner with perceptive yellow eyes. “I find that hard to believe. Everyone, even the cruelest of us all, has a story to tell.”

Sasori’s cold amber eyes shifted to the pale-skinned, black-haired Akatsuki at his side. “I do not.”

“You have been a part of this organization for what, a year?” Orochimaru frowned for a moment, his mind wandering to thoughts of everything he had left behind in Konoha. The steps he had been forced to take to secure his immortality… “You’re far too complex to simply join for the sake of joining. All of us are.”

“Do not compare me to the others in this organization, Orochimaru,” Sasori said, narrowing his eyes. “I am nothing like them.”

“You don’t deny you are just as much a killer,” the Snake Sannin stated. “Why, you even killed the Kazekage of your village. Quite a feat, Sasori-kun…”

Sasori paused momentarily at the mention of the Third. He hadn’t thought of him for a long while. He hadn’t thought of her. He leaned back against the cold wall and closed his eyes. “It’s none of your business.”

“Perhaps not,” Orochimaru agreed, “but brilliant minds so similar to my own can’t help but intrigue me. No one joins Akatsuki simply for the sake of killing. There’s a hidden reason behind each and every one of these people.”

“Since when did you become so insightful?” Sasori asked. He waved his hand to gesture to the other members that awaited their Leader’s entrance. “What do you care what their stories are?”

Orochimaru looked at them all and then shifted his gaze back to his partner. “I don’t. I’m curious about yours. Someone so young – a prodigy, like myself. What drove you over the edge, Sasori-kun? What made you become the monster you are today?”

A wicked smile crossed Sasori’s once angelic face. “I have always been a monster, Orochimaru.”

xXx

Sakura paused in her reading, her green eyes shifting to Deidara. “Dei,” she began, her voice unnaturally soft. He looked at her curiously. “Do you know a guy named… Orochimaru?”

Deidara frowned as though he had just swallowed something that left a poor aftertaste. “Not personally,” he admitted. “But he hung out with the guys back in high school for a while, before me. You were probably still in middle school when he was a senior – that’s why you never met him. Why do you ask?”

She shook her head, unsure of how to tell him that she’d read his name in a four-hundred-year-old book. “Just wondering,” she said. “You said he was friends with the guys before you joined?”

“Yeah. I was pretty much his replacement in our little gang.”

“Akatsuki,” Sakura said, pointing to the name of their art studio.

“That’s right. Why the sudden interest?”

“Uh… Was just thinking about the past.” Deidara nodded, but he didn’t push the subject further.

And that's it.  This ship has sailed.  Don't hate me.  I tried.  I really did.  I'm not making any promises.  I'll keep trying, but that's it.  I just don't know anymore -_-

Contests and One-Shots and Spoilers, Oh my

Pein

Yeah, so, two authors on fanfiction.net are doing Naruto contests right now, and I'm going to participate in both.  You should, too!  One is a One-Shot Sakura x Anyone challenge by Vesper chan, and the other is a one-two-or-three-shot challenge with six available pairings and phrases by SpeedDemon315.  Both are talented writers who have caught my eye.

My first work was for SpeedDemon315's challenge.  I called it No Such Thing.  It's a Pein x Sakura.  Why?  Because I can.  It's short; mainly just Sakura watching him bathe, naturally thinking he doesn't know she's there.

Vesper chan's will be a continuation called You Owe Me.  Longer and with actual dialogue this time.  I couldn't resist.

So yeh, check out their profiles - the challenges are at the bottom of both of their profiles - and join in!  It's good fun, good fun.  Can't wait to read the entries.

Tsk tsk, this just won't do.  How do I find myself dragged back into the realm of fanfiction?  Simple.  We all come back eventually, I guess.  Sigh.  I'm not making any promises that I'm not positive I won't be able to keep.  There is a one-shot coming soon, but yeh.

Even though I can't seem to get away...

Don't get your hopes up.

Yet.

Okay, so it's going better than I thought.  A Third Chance is taking off nicely, already three chapters up and quite a few people on alerts with a decent amount of reviews.  Upside Down got the same treatment in the beginning so hey ^_^ I've got high hopes :D

As for the summary not matching the story so far (people have asked), that's somewhat a spoiler.  Non-spoiled version: The story is still in the beginning, and the summary won't make sense for a while.

I would spoil it, really, but unlike Upside Down, if I spoil this, it'll ruin the surprise D:  So be patient, unlike our dear Sasori, oke?  Keep reading ^___^

Regarding the new story, I've received an offer for it.  Sailorprincess3234 has offered to take the 3 chapters I had written and turn it into a story that she'll eventually post.  I'm looking forward to reading it, and I'm sure others are, too, so be on the lookout! ^_^

I will most likely be preoccupied as far as writing goes.  I have a request for another Sasori x Sakura one-shot (requests for a chapter story, too, but we'll have to see if I can pull inspiration out of my ass), as well as one for a Death Note one-shot (community members only, sorry).

Wow... I've got major commitment issues or something.  Promised a new story forever ago and haven't been able to come out with anything but two Sasori x Sakura one-shots.  I don't know what happened  x_x   One minute I had tons of inspiration and a great plotline, the next it all went poof.  Deidara's death probably had something to do with it, but I don't want to make a bunch of lame excuses.

So here's what's up.  I've got 11,000-something words in a would-be Deidara x Sakura fanfic that will most likely rot to nothingness on my hard drive unless I do this.  Send me a PM or an e-mail, I don't care which, and ask for it, if you want it.  Maybe one of you readers can get something done?  You can have it - hopefully you'll turn it into something great, because I sure can't. T_T

Good luck  :3

Alrighty then; so I'm working on a new fanfic, as promised.  I've got a decent 11,501 words so far but, unfortunately, it isn't quite good enought to be posted just yet.  It's another DeiSaku but not an alternate universe this time.  The thing is, as embarrassing as it is to admit, I'm worried about it not being very original.  You just see so many stories these days that are the same plot and it gets a bit boring after a while.  I'm not complaining; some of those are really good.
All I'm saying is that I need variety, haha.  I don't want a 'Sakura gets kidnapped by Akatsuki' (KILL), nor do I want a 'Deidara gets injured and Sakura heals him.'  That's just so over-used.  Which is why my other DeiSaku was an AU.
Regardless, I'll see what I can do.

Lots of love,

TK

DeiSaku

And with that, Upside-Down now sits at my profile completed.   Thanks again to all my readers and reviewers who fueled my inspiration and motivation to go all the way with it.  It amazes me to no end the nice things people have to say in their reviews.  Also, I know I mentioned a new DeiSaku story.  This is still a possibility!  As of right now, there is a 50% chance I will work on this story, as long as my plotline remains original and strong in my head.  I'm probably going to write at least 5 chapters before I deem it worthy to submit online.  After all, I don't want to write one chapter, submit it, and then end up unable to finish the fanfic due to lack of ideas or another similar tragedy.  In any case, there's a decent chance that I will write another fanfic, but it's going to be a while before I post anything.  Enjoy the last chapter of Upside-Down, and continue to be amazing.

Keep on Rockin'

Upside-down is doing better than any other fic I've written!  To be honest, that surprised me big time - I honestly had no idea just how popular DeiSaku was!  That being said, I'm proud and happy to say I will be taking this story through to the end.  I adore this story; it's one of my favorite ones I've ever written, posted on the site or not.

H
owever, lately, I will not hesitate to mention I've been getting some motivation for ANOTHER DeiSaku fic....   So as soon as Upside-Down is completed, be on the lookout for a brand new TK story, again DeiSaku.  I'll admit it, I'm addicted to this pairing, as well as the anime, so this next one will be a NON AU!  That's right... I usually write Alternate Universe stories, but this time, it'll be in ninja world where it belongs. XD

A word on my fast updates - The main word on the street or whatever is that I update exceedingly fast.  I have a helpful tool of my trade that probably resides within myself alone (as well as some others, I'm sure) is that I can type and have a chapter written in a few hours.  It comes naturally; nothing I can really do about that.  Yes, I'm aware that makes me a freak - I get that a lot.  But anyway, long story short, YES!  I update quickly!  And I always will!  XD  Enjoy it~ :3

Yes I have posted a new fic.  Sorry guys, I just lack inspiration for Purgatory.  And about the sequel to Outcast and Enigma that I promised... yeah, I'm sorry again...  I really intended to do both of those, but things got in the way and issues came up.

The new fic is called Upside Down, its a Naruto one.  No OCs, AU, DeiSaku, in-character as always :)  I really do intend to finish this if it kills me, I've finished everything else but Purgatory!!  Well, please read and I hope everyone likes it

To the readers-

Finally posted a new story on the site.  It's called Purgatory.  Full summary available via my profile, of course.  Two chapters up so far; more on the way.

I'm slightly skeptical of this one, but we'll see how it does.  In any case, thanks again to everyone who reviewed Outcast and Enigma, and I just hope this one does at least half as well as that did.

Merry Christmas or Seasons Greetings

Again to my readers

Outcast and Enigma is finally over, though I'm sorry to those of you who didn't want it to end.

As I said before, I'm working on a new plot for a new Beyblade fic.

I know nearly everyone mentioned a sequel... well, I will at least say that it is a possibility.  I will need to recharge my inspiration fuel, though!

In any case, be looking for the new fic; lots of love to my readers and reviewers

To my readers from FanFiction.Net

For the record, I made this journal for none other than you!  That's right.  I'm tired of using MySpace because I personally find it to be a waste of time.  In any case, I'll post information here every so often on the progress with my fanfics.  Message me if your curious at any time.  Hell, you can even e-mail me.

TsukiharaKitty@hotmail.com

I check it at least twice a day, so I'm bound to get whatever it is you send me.

In any case, here's a quick update on my current work: The Outcast and the Enigma

There's only one chapter left.  I promised to have it up by Thursday, but a lot of people are asking me to make it a long epilogue (which I take as a compliment, I assure you).  I will make an effort to do that, I promise.  However, if that happens, there's a chance I won't get it up there until Friday.  I apologize in advance.

In any case, it will be completed before Christmas Eve, that much is certain.

And I'm sorry for those of you who don't want it to end.  Nothing lasts forever, and I couldn' t just continue to drag it on, you see.

To make up for it, I will make the epilogue not only long but marvelous.

Any questions or comments send to my e-mail inbox, haha, as I, the technologically impaired TK, am still trying to figure this site out.

All the best,

TK
